1. Suzanne Somers’s role on “Three’s Company” : CHRISSY
Suzanne Somers is an actress whose big break came playing the ditzy Chrissy Snow on the sitcom “Three’s Company”. When contracts came up for renewal for the cast in the fifth season, the relationship between Somers and the producers soured rapidly. Somers went on a strike of sorts and for most of the fifth season made only token appearances in the show in scenes that were filmed without other members of the regular cast. The Chrissy Snow character was replaced in the sixth season.

28:02, no errors. A difficult one. The lower left was particularly tricky for me, since I’d never heard of “MT. DANA”, “Gizmodo”, or “Engadget”, so “TECH BLOG” was a late-coming educated guess. A good tussle … 😜.
I got lucky there – Mt. Dana was one of the Sierra peaks I slogged up many years and pounds ago for some reason that now escapes me. Oh, well, pass me the remote, would ya…..
28:08 Dave and I must have been on the same wavelength. I had trouble with the bottom left as well. I thought the clue for METERS was tough, especially since I also didn’t know MTDANA.
I was going to say this was pretty easy for a Friday, since even I was able to finish it….guess I better not….
One hour, DNF, way out of my league.
The entire bottom left was a total blank except for BRIT
26:58, no errors. Upper left corner fell immediately for me, and looked like this grid would be Monday-easy. Slogged, clockwise, around the outside corners; and finally spent about half my time unravelling the 3 long clues in the center.
@Bill’s explanation for Destiny’s Child, sent me to the wiki; couldn’t imagine the group being around for 46 years (1960-2006). I think it’s a typo. From Wikipedia: “Destiny’s Child members began their musical career as Girl’s Tyme, formed in 1990, comprising Knowles, Rowland, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett among others. After years of limited success, the quartet were signed in 1997 to Columbia Records and Music World Entertainment as Destiny’s Child.”
Lower left . . . but all’s well that ends well.
The SW was tough, TRUSTFUNDBABY and MTDANA were new ones, and the two R-rated entries were surprising and entertaining. Erred but enjoyed.
17:49, 2 dumb errors (ADEXEC for TVEXEC).
Always a good day when you know 1A. Nevertheless, at least 30 mins with no errors. Fun but tough puzzle. Fun BOOTYLICIOUS cluing. No idea about cosmetics but had to guess on AL(M)AY and (M)ETGALA – but it makes sense.
Tough time with the bottom left corner – had REDTIDE , thought LASTROW, BACKROW finally got EXITROW, EVE etc
Sorry – forgot my name
