I can't seem to make "care" make sense for 29 down "glazed fabric"…there is a Martin Ritt but I didn't think "cire" would be a word or is it?

You caught me out!
Indeed you are right, and I made a mistake (that slipped through the rigorous quality control!).
Ciré, I just found out, is a fabric with a highly glazed finish due to the application of wax.
