18:24, no errors. Surprised by the victory jingle for the second day in a row. SW corner was the last to drop. Particularly nasty with SUHWEET and ERHU? Two stringed instrument sounds like something I might be able to play.
TSA PreCheck has been worth the money, except for when we renewed just prior to Covid pandemic.
Several years ago I sat through a Chinese music recital with some friends and my wife, a native of Taiwan. It was my introduction to the erhu, a popular instrument for many younger students. Unforgettable, much like my first root canal….
27:20 took a while to figure out how to spell “suhweet”…does it show?
19:01. Original theme. At least I’d never seen it before.
I tend to take a lot of redeyes out of Las Vegas. TSA PRE is usually closed at that hour. I want a discount.
I’d never heard of a RAGE ROOM, but I could think of a lot of uses…
Best –
Can someone explain toilet/toilet pothead. I don’t get the head connection.
‘POT’ and ‘HEAD’ are two slang words for ‘toilet’.
For those that use the Seattle Times on this one, don’t bother trying. They got the puzzle clues so super-messed up it’s not worth the time.
Per @glen – it was a mess.. if you even try to do it online, it’s missing some clues.
I managed once I figured out that “Activist known as “the mother of the freedom movement”” was the clue for 11-Down, and not some strange combination for 11 AND 12-Down.
After that, if you look at the clue following the Down entry you’re at, it works, and only the very last one is missing.
So, for 12-Down, read the clue for 15-Down. For 15-Down, read the clue for 17-Down, and so on. Processed that way, the only clue missing is 54-Down, which I filled with the Across clues.
46:01 only 1 square wrong. lam/pat -> lum->put.
I’m happy with this because the down clue numbering was all out of whack on the Seattle Times site and I had to contend with figuring which clues match which numbers on the grid in addition to solving them.
Gah, suhweet, & erhu…it’s what you get with 2 setters👎👎👎👎
Stay safe😀
